I love taking family portraits.
I love to capture those moments when a family interacts with each other, just doing their thing.
The little moments, as time passes, you might forget.
But occasionally, a shoot doesn’t go to plan, and this one didn’t start out too well! Firstly, a mix up with our chosen outdoor location, with me being advised a booking was not needed only to arrive and be told the exact opposite was extremely embarrassing and frustrating. I hate to look unprofessional! Whilst I was trying to sort out this mix up, 8 month old Xavier decided he didn’t like what he was wearing and, well…. number two’s was well represented!
We agreed on an alternative location, Xavier was changed, we took a quick 20 minute drive and then settled into our session.
These are just a handful of the beautiful images we were able to capture!
Erin and Stacy, thank you both for your patience! Even with our little dramas, I hope I’ve captured you exactly as you wanted. It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with your beautiful family.
“I give her all my love
That’s all I do
And if you saw my love
You’d love her too
I love her”
You may remember Sanja from her maternity session. Well two days later, this little treasure was born! Meet Mia….
Sometimes with newborns, sessions never turn out as we plan. We just go with the flow, relax, take some time out and if all else fails, reschedule.
Mia, mum and dad, had a rough night prior to our first session, but before calling it quits, we managed to get some fabulous shots in, but not enough in my book!! Unfortunately, for our second session, dad had to work, so it was just me, mum and Mia! I had so many gorgeous shots to choose from to include on the blog, this is just a handful! I even caught a smile – love it!
What a beautiful family! Congratulations to you both and welcome to the world Mia! Thank you both again – it was a pleasure!
“A little ray of sunshine has come into the world,
A little ray of sunshine in the shape of a girl….”
What a gorgeous little bub! Piper was four weeks early so she was still so little when I got to meet her. I had lovely cuddles too!
Justin’s (aka dad) sister had enquired about a gift certificate for her brother as she wanted them to have some special pictures as a present on the birth of her niece. Joanna (aka mum and my second mum with the same name!) and Justin were so relaxed with their session.
And little Piper, well, she was just perfect! Two and a half hours of camera fun and there were only a few little tears but plenty of wonderful expressions! 🙂
Thanks to you both for allowing me into your home to capture these moments for you, and thank you for your hospitality and lovely coffee!! ♥
“And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility….”
Well this ‘bump’ has now become a little girl – Mia! Congratulations Sanja and Miljan!
Sanja contacted me a week before her due date to see if we could schedule a time to have some maternity photos done. Our original date was rained out, so we moved the shoot three days later and were presented with some beautiful weather to have these photos done. Lucky for Sanja we squeezed this in just in time as little Mia was born on the Monday!
What a stunning couple and what a beautiful belly! Makes me miss being pregnant! I love pregnant bellies!
Look at this beautiful family – and first time parents!
I used to work with Joanna a few years ago, and when she told me she was pregnant and wanted me to take pics of her newborn when ‘it’ came along, I was thrilled!
This beautiful little boy, Benjamin, loved his hands and was pretty much awake for the whole session. He made me clucky he was soooo adorable, but I think my child-bearing days are well and truly over!
Mum and dad, Brett, were completely comfortable in front of the camera and were so relaxed that we got some great natural and ‘real’ images – right up my alley!
Thank you so much Jo and Brett for allowing me into your home to capture you all and congratulations to you both. You are going to make fantastic parents! xx
